My Facial Room

Every idea starts with a problem. Mine was simple: professional facial treatments were too expensive. I was unemployed for months after leaving the Army in 2002, and looking for jobs, when I suffered from severe acne breakouts on my face. The cost of getting my skin treated at a professional facial centre was unreasonably high. This was especially so, when most of the skin care establishments I had been to for consultations either tried to give me the hard sell. Or, were only catered to female clients. Therefore, I forewent the idea of getting treated, opting, instead, to make my dwindling savings last longer, while complaining at the same time. ( I don’t recommend this.) Anyone of us who had similar experiences would understand the hardship of finding good, professional facials that didn’t leave our wallets bare.

So, where were the options?


It turns out there was a simple explanation. The regular bricks-and-mortar skin care establishments needed to keep their prices artificially high to grow, while reaping huge profits from consumers who have no other options.
 

As such, I started My Facial Room to create an alternative, after several years of seeking for answers to the above problem.

I was grateful to have studied and graduated with an Aestheticienne Diploma at Top To Toe Beauty College in August 2003. And gained sufficient professional experience as a skin care therapist and consultant with Face of Man Skincare ( now known as FM Skincare). The directors of Face of Man Skincare - Mr Adam Chua and Mr Chris Chua, as well as my former manager, Mr Clifton Yow, had been my greatest mentors during my exciting career with the renowned skin care centre.

Under their fine tutelage, I was able to further hone my professional skills ( such as in the finer points of extraction and treatments) and learn the ropes of business as well. They were my important benefactors.

It was only after my first failed skin care business venture, since leaving FM Skincare on 1 October 2006, that I finally found the answer I had been seeking for. On 14 January 2008, My Facial Room was born, and I have been offering skin care services from my home, ever since.
 

By circumventing traditional channels, designing and offering a proven system of effective skin care solutions in-house, and engaging with customers directly, I am able to provide higher-quality and better facial treatments at a fraction of the going price.
 

I believe that getting a professional facial should be easy and fun. It should leave you happy and good-looking, with money in your pocket.
 

Moreover, I believe that everyone has the right to look his/ her best.
 

There’s nothing complicated about it. Just great facial, better price, and good outcome.

My Philosophy

My professional principle has not changed, ever since I ventured into this business. That is, to offer high quality environment, services and products that are truly value for money to my clients.
